Texture replacers really shouldn't come with esps unless the've got special mod manager optional bits, so it's actually more likely that it's an error in a different mod than the actual texture mod that's to blame.Welcome to Skyrim Mods Xbox! Only way that would happen is if the mod used an esp that got regestered in save files created while the esp was active. The game doesn't actually remember replacement assets If there's nothing in the data folder where the replacement texture would go. The game is basically built to go "if there is a texture with the same name in folder X in the data file, call that instead of the default texture when rendering", and most texture and mesh replacers are based off that mechanic. Texture replacers shouldn't change anything persistant though.
