Enter the proper information in the ‘Shutdown Event Tracker’ and shut down the server. The default selected option is ‘Install updates and shutdown’, but we can easily choose the option ‘Shut down’. You are then presented with the ‘Shut Down Windows’ window. All you need to do is enter the following key combination (Alt + F4). If you unfold the little black triangle on the right side of the shutdown button you are not presented with the option that we are looking for. This exclamation mark indicates that there are Windows Update ready to install. When I log on to the server and open the start menu I notice that there is an orange exclamation mark next to the shutdown button.
